According to a wide-ranging new report from the British Educational Travel Association, “Unlocking the Value of Youth, Student & Educational Travel”, visa controls, currency fluctuations and an unfriendly impression following Brexit are putting 25% of young visitors off the UK as a must-visit English speaking destination for those wanting to study, tour and work.

The 14.9m young people who visit the UK represent 38% of all inbound tourists, and the youth, student and educational travel sector is worth £22.3 billion a year to Britain.

Other English-speaking countries are still thriving, and the report urges the UK Government to remove international students from net migration figures and review its complicated visa policy.
