Despite continued uncertainty around Brexit, reduced consumer spending power and the weak pound, a new World Travel & Tourism Council economic impact report for 2017 predicts that the UK travel and tourism sector will “hold up” this year. Spending by international visitors is expected to increase by 6.2%, although domestic and outbound spend in the UK will suffer.

The WTTC called on the government to take into account the need for the sector to employ workers from around the world, as well as for the UK to remain part of the European single aviation market and for future investment in border entry and exit systems.Read more:
