The US Travel Association has submitted to the White House and state governors health-focused guidelines for travel businesses, hoping to help kick-start a gradual reopening of the travel industry in the country.

The 15-page guidelines “Travel in the New Normal” hopes to provide a roadmap for travel to resume as safely as possible, by ensuring workers can get back to work safely, and consumers’ trust is restored in the safety of travel.

It covers six main areas: modifying practices to protect employees and customers; touchless solutions to eliminate viral spread; enhanced sanitation procedures; increased screening measures; adhering to CDC guidance where employees test positive for Covid-19; and following best practice for food and beverage service.
