Some American hotels are seeking ways to ease cashflow, selling things now for services provided later, by offering enticing deals for consumers.
One that is offering “bonds” is the 452-room hotel LondonHouse Chicago which is offering $100 credits, which are worth $150 after 60 days. The guests can use the bonds to pay for everything from overnight stays to room service and drinks.
This is just one of several like-minded initiatives helping salvage the beleaguered industry, including Hotel Credits, where discounted vouchers are sold to use at a particular propertyduring 2021, where $200 turns into $300 at many.
Another COVID-19 byproduct of the crisis is We Travel Forward, a site that aggregates offers from hotels aimed at having people spend now to get more later.
