Shanghai-based Ctrip is following the Priceline rebrand to Booking Holdings and Expedia Inc becoming Expedia Group, by renaming itself Trip.com Group Ltd.

Its major brands including Ctrip, Qunar and Skyscanner will all move under the new name, which ironically was sold by Expedia Group to Gogobot, itself briefly rebranded as Trip.com before it was acquired by Ctrip two years ago.

Ctrip posted net loss of $59 million compared to net income of $360 million last year, while one of its most recent international moves has been to become the largest shareholder of India’s MakeMyTrip.
