The UK Chancellor has announced that the Job Support Scheme will be expanded to support businesses legally required to shut for some period over winter, starting on 1 November for six months, with a review in January. 

Under the scheme, the government will pay two-thirds of employees’ salaries after seven consecutive work days missed, up to a maximum of £2,100/month. Business cash grants also increased to up to £3,000 per month paid fortnightly. Employers will have to cover NICS and pension contributions
