The results of a bespoke questionnaire, asking about participation in activities which could be done under social distancing guidance, has been released by the Government’s Department, Culture, Media and Sport.

Activities cover everything from creative activities carried out in the home or watched online to sport to charitable giving and volunteering.

It also covered heritage activities such as visiting a historic park or garden, a site of archaeological interest or an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, to walk or exercise.

Main findings included that between May and July, 43% of people spent less time visiting a historic park or garden to walk or exercise, 39% spent less time visiting a site of archaeological interest and 46% spent less time visiting a National Park, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or ancient woodland.
