British officials have lifted restrictions on flights to Sharm El-Sheikh which were imposed following the bombing of a Russian airliner in 2015, linked to the Islamic State group, which led to 224 killed.

The move is stage 1 in the resumption of flights to the resort, which is popular with UK holidaymakers. TUI is now reintroducing Sharm el-Sheikh flights due to customer demand, while Easyjet and ABTA have welcomed the move.
