According to a new report from accountancy firm BDO, the average hotel room rate across the UK has exceeded £100 for the first time, after rising 3.4% 2017 to £100.58.

The UK saw an increase in inbound tourism mainly due to the weak pound. Despite challenges around Brexit and legislation affecting the industry, the pipeline of new UK hotel openings is expected to exceed 21,700 rooms during 2018 and 2019, over one-third in London.
