Turkey’s Culture and Tourism Ministry has stated that the country had hosted almost 5.5 million foreign visitors this year, up until August, amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. However, tourist footfall fell 78% from 24.7 million, year-on-year.

During July, the country hosted 932,927 foreign visitors, dramatically down on the 6.5 million of last year, but up 214,768 from June.

‘The Safe Tourism Certification’ was  launched recently covering a range of safety measures from transportation and accommodation to health conditions for tourists.
