While the Conservative leadership is still being resolved, the threat of a no-deal Brexit is looming again, with the EU not prepared to renegotiate.

A no deal means the UK and the EU will split without an agreement, ending 40-plus years of integration and bringing uncertainty around trade and immigration, amongst other areas. Meanwhile the travel industry holds its breath and puts in place what it can, in the knowledge that holidays are a discretionary expense, and there is uncertainty around long queues and rules on immigration. However the weakness of the pound is bringing a strong uptake in inbound tourism, especially from emerging markets such as China and India, as well as Europe and the US.
