Google’s research into the top 10 mobile-friendly travel companies out of 465 UK brands has Booking.com coming out as performing the best, followed by KAYAK, eDreams, lastminute.com, Trainline,  Thomas Cook, easyJet, Jet2holidays, Premier Inn and TripAdvisor.

It shows travel brands perform well compared to retail but are less mobile-friendly as companies in the finance sector.

Top-level findings include that 92% of people in the UK use a mobile device, and 53% of visits are abandoned if a mobile site takes more than three seconds to load,meaning revenue could increase by hundreds of pounds if they cut loading time from six to three seconds.

Google is launching a Speed Scorecard to compare mobile site speed and an Impact Calculator to work out how speeds affect revenue.
