IBM has developed its first Watson-enabled robot specifically for the hospitality market, in collaboration with Hilton Worldwide.

The 2.5-foot-tall robot named “Connie” uses a combination of WayBlazer’s travel domain knowledge and Watson APIs including Dialog, Speech to Text, Text to Speech, and Natural Language Classifier, to guests and answer their questions about amenities, services, and operations.

A recent Travelzoo survey of 6,000 travelers found that nearly 80% of respondents expect robots to play a big part in their lives by 2020.
