DIY arrangements for business travel are increasingly becoming the norm, especially amongst the younger generation, who are more likely to want to arrange their own flights and accommodation via online services such as Expedia and Airbnb.

However, the rise in business travel across the board brings additional risks – from diseases, kidnapping and flight disruption, to – on a corporate level – tax and immigration compliance and challenges for business insurance.

Employers need to update their mobility policies to mitigate risk associated with travel arrangements, especially those outside the corporate norm.
