For corporate travel buyers, 2016 will be a year of higher hotel rates across most of the globe, according to American Express Global Business Travel’s annual Business Travel Forecast. In North America it projects corporate travelers will be looking at around a 6 percent increase in mid-range and high-price hotels; and whilst new construction is is starting forecast, this is unlikely to have any impact in the short term.
Meanwhile the effect across Europe is likely to be lower, possibly around 3 percent, the weak Euro boosting demand for tourist beds in the major cities.
