According to data from Expedia, bookings across the UK rose year-on-year in Q2, as a result of great weather boosting staycations.
London remains the most popular destination worldwide through Expedia, but in the UK, hotels in Essex and Chester experienced over 35% growth year-on-year, while an average of 30% was seen across East Anglia, Cambridge and North Wales.
50% of demand for UK hotels booked via Expedia were from British tourists, while inbound visits from the US were up 50%.
