The sixth conference SO!APART invited various industry players to Leipzig on 14 and 15 November 2018 to discuss the future for the serviced apartment sector, the needs of its diverse clientele and whether aparthotels have served their time.
The sector was described as currently reinventing itself, with stronger acceptance in the UK than in Germany, but with great dynamism generally.
There was discussion of new micro-living projects, efficient use of space in serviced apartments, individual locations across Germany, taxes, public building law and civil law, among other topics.
A conclusion was offered, that 30% of all overnight stays in the hospitality sector today have extended-stay potential.
The evening’s Award ceremony on 14th November saw accolades for the best serviced apartment concepts awarded in several categories, with prizes for Yays Sagrera, Adina Apartment Hotel Leipzig, FELIX Suiten Dresden, my4walls, ADAPT APARTMENTS BERLIN and APART ARTHOTEL Munich Airport Boardinghaus.
