Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky has previously hinted interest in launching an Airbnb airline, and this article considers one business model already proposed by industry designers which would come close to an Airbnb-style disruptor airline.

The Poppi concept, developed by the Seattle-based design firm TEAGUE, would be a membership-based airline service which would wet-lease planes and staff, compensate middle seat passengers for their hardship, has already designed special onboard luggage to fit into the seat-shell, customer service would be automated with instant-alerts to smart devices to manage and re-coordinate disruption and all customer interactions would be digital including luggage pickup. First introduced in 2015, many Poppi service elements are already in use today.
