A startup offering furnished rooms and apartments to digital nomads and travellers seeking leases on a month-to-month basis has raised $2.5 million in seed funding.

Anyplace negotiates a 30% to 50% discount with hotels, offering them a new source of monthly revenue as they try to compete with services like Airbnb.

Although it sounds like a serviced apartment or co-living space, Anyplace is purely a booking platform without operating any properties, collecting 10% commission. It also offers hotels basic background checks and plans to introduce eviction insurance and a “nomad loyalty program”.

The company estimates around 100 people currently staying in Anyplace properties, generating $1.3 million in bookings last year.
