Qatar’s hospitality market is expected to demonstrate growth of more than 10% over a five-year period up to 2020, owing mainly to FIFA 2022 World Cup being held in the country, a new report has shown.

There was a slowdown in 2016; however upcoming events, the robust development of tourism and hospitality related infrastructure, and a healthy pipeline of hotels and serviced apartments – one of the largest in the world – should lead to a strong recovery.

During the forecast period, occupancy rates at hotels and serviced apartments are anticipated to grow by 3% to 70% and (RevPAR) is projected to grow by 2.3% annually to $133 by 2020.
