Designs for a striking 18-bedroom aparthotel the site of a derelict industrial storage unit on the banks of the River Tyne have been unveiled.
Plans form part of the Ouseburn Valley Conservation Area redevelopment into ‘a thriving and sustainable urban village’.
Previous plans to build four new homes on the site was rejected by council bosses over noise concerns from nearby bars, but this plan includes acoustically-sealed, non-opening windows and other noise-minimising measures.
Another nearby unit has been granted permission to open as a cafe.
