Plans for a 35-storey residential and hotel complex have been unveiled on Birmingham’s Broad Street, where developers seek to build 440 apartments for rent and a 230-bedroom hotel.
They include a cycle workshop and parking for 168 bikes, communal amenities, a landscaped courtyard with a 200m running track alongside exercise stations and ‘zones’ for different activities. There will be no parking but developers are planning to provide four pool cars for residents to use.
The development will be just 31 feet wide, a so-called ‘super slender’ building, and joins other such buildings in the area.
Called The Square, it is intended to provide a new level of sustainable city centre dwelling, as well as being a new landmark building for the developing Birmingham skyline.
