Plans have been submitted to build an apartment and aparthotel dual scheme in the vicinity of St James’ Park in Newcastle, a seven-storey, 78-apartment building dubbed Wellington House with works due to start in 2018 and a nine-storey aparthotel comprising 63 rooms.

The proposals seek to meet the needs of the growing market of people who wish to visit Newcastle for either business or leisure who want to stay in the city centre location but do not want to stay in a traditional hotel.
