OYO Hotels and Homes is rolling out new operational procedures at its independently-owned hotels to prepare for reopening, focusing on a “minimal-touch experience”.

It will also introduce a ‘Sanitised Stays’ tag displayed online descriptions indicating that staff in a property are fully trained and the hotel has reached a high compliance level in implementing the new procedures.

A few top level changes are that excess furniture will be removed from lobby areas, markings will be placed on the floor to enable social distancing, room keys and TV remote controls will be disinfected and presented in ziplock bags, staff won’t handle guest luggage, lifts will be shared by only one family or the occupants of one room at a time.

OYO is currently developing the technology for app-based remote check-in.
