The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has announced that Salisbury MP John Glen has been handed the role of parliamentary undersecretary for arts, heritage and tourism. He has previously worked closely with Visit Wiltshire, and his own constituency is home to a number of key visitor destinations, including Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathedral.
On the hospitality industry, Glen says: “I know from my own constituency how important tourism is to communities across the country in creating jobs and driving growth.
“I look forward to working closely with the sector to continue to maximise its impact in Britain and across the world.”
Karen Bradley was reappointed Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport which brings welcome continuity to the department.
