According to the latest UK Hotel Market Tracker published by AlixPartners, HVS and ASAP Business Partner STR, performance amongst regional hotels fell by 2.7% in the fourth quarter of 2019, and by 1.9% for the full year, the first annual decline in four years.

In contrast, RevPar in London increased 3.7% in the full year and 0.9% in Q4 although AlixPartners warned of “softening occupancy”.

The UK election result and Brexit will likely increase outside investment although the number of pipeline luxury hotels in London may temper this growth, and the regions are likely to be slower to catch up.
