Almost two-thirds of 2,000 Britains surveyed by Travelodge are taking on average two ‘minications’ in 2020, with the average trip costing £281, giving the UK economy a £24bn boost.

The survey shows 42% of holidaymakers have swapped longer vacations for short getaways, with over a quarter reporting that they did not feel confident taking a longer holiday this year.

Breaks to the seaside remain the “most popular”, with top coastal locations as Cornwall, Devon and North Wales. York, Edinburgh and London were ranked as the top three cities to visit for a ‘minication’.
