A Travelport survey of 11,000 travellers in 19 countries found that nearly half of British millennials taking at least one flight last year expect to access booking information digitally 24/7, in contrast with one in ten baby boomers and a third of Generation X travellers.

38% of millennials expect companies to mine data analytics to provide more personalised recommendations, and are also seeking to combine leisure and business travel, with 62% extending business trips into ‘bleisure’, compared to 27%.

Continuing their reliance on digital information, millennials use up to 18 different types of apps while travelling, especially social media, weather, banking, instant messaging, local transportation such as Uber, destination guides, travel reviews and translation.
