Marriott International signed 35 hotels totalling 12,000 rooms across Europe last year, its most successful ever year for signing development contracts.

It especially grew interest in its luxury and select service brands, including Autograph Collection Hotels and its new affordable lifestyle brand, Moxy Hotels, which now has 20 open in Europe, and more than 50 signed across 40 destinations due to open between now and 2020.

Marriott Europe has more than 200 hotels and over 36,000 rooms signed in the pipeline, and operates or franchises almost 550 properties in 40 European countries and territories, making up 9% of its global room distribution.
