According to new figures, demand for Airbnb accommodation has slumped, and there has been a surge in rental listings as a result across UK cities.

London has seen an average 112% increase in available properties, while tourist cities seeing a rise include Bath at 78%, Edinburgh (62%) and Brighton (55%).

In the past there were 29 Airbnb listings for every home in Edinburgh Old Town, and in one part of the Lake District there were 19 listings per 100 properties.

Investors are also eyeing potential HMO properties in built-up cities such as London, Manchester and Birmingham.
