Kenya welcomed more than two million guests in 2019, up more than 1%, in the year the country took the title of World’s Leading safari Destination at the World Travel Awards.

Close to 1.5 million landed in Nairobi alone, part of a general rise in arrivals by air and decrease in land border crossings of 13%.

Almost a quarter of a million tourists arrived from the US, with the second largest markets Uganda and Tanzania close behind in numbers. The UK and India were fourth and fifth, followed by China, Germany, Italy, South Africa and France.
