An Italian businessman refused to leave a £1.5 million property in Chelsea even after an eviction order was issued, after sub-letting the house on Airbnb without the landlady’s permission, installing beds, washing machines and TVs in every room.

In court the man said he was allowing relatives and close family members to stay  occasionally.

He had previously done the same with another rented property, costing the landlord £10,000 in legal fees to evict him. He was letting that two-bed property as three-bed, after installing extra furniture in the living room.
