Instagram is now allowing people to buy things they see and like on the platform directly through the app, bringing a new source of income for parent Facebook, in a new shopping feature called Checkout.
They will be able to buy directly within Instagram, rather than being directed to a third-party retailer’s website, and this ties in with users’ obsession with brands and lifestyle influencers, across sector.
Instagram is used by 130 million people each month.
However as yet flights and accommodation are not part of the launch phase.
