OYO, the fastest-growing hotel operator in India, has launched an expansion push in Scotland following its first UK operation in London last year.

So far it has partnered with four small hotels across Scotland, offering them access to marketing and technology they may not otherwise enjoy. Two in Edinburgh, one in Hamilton and one in Uddingston will be joined by one in Glasgow, another in Edinburgh, and others planned in Inverness, Aberdeen and Oban.

OYO, backed by investors including Softbank, Airbnb, Sequoia and Lightspeed, plans to invest £40 million in the UK this year, and now operates more than 18,000 franchised or leased hotels and 6,000 homes.
