The TOPHOTELPROJECTS construction database shows that India’s hotel market is set to grow by 151 hotels in various cities, and 24,223 rooms, in the coming years.

Of the 53 new properties originally scheduled to go live in 2020, several will be delayed, with only 11 currently in the pre-opening phase.

2021 looks less busy with only 26 properties and 3,906 rooms in the pipeline, 24 hotels planned for 2022, and 48 more on the books for 2023 and beyond.

Of the 151 planned hotel projects, 88 will be in the four-star segment, and the remaining 63 will fall into the five-star category.

Radisson Hotels & Resorts and  IHG own  the biggest growing brands in the country, but among the top picks opening soon are Fairmont Hotel Mumbai Airport, Zephyr – MBD Steigenberger Hotel and Serviced Apartments and The World Hotel Surat’s 304 luxury serviced apartments.
