IBM and Airbnb have jointly announced the settlement of the patent lawsuit filed by the former, and the suit has been dropped.

IBM had sued Airbnb for infringement of its four e-commerce-related patents in the US District Court of Delaware, and was looking for damages as well as looking to restrict Airbnb from using its technology. It said it had been trying to negotiate on a patent license agreement since May 2014, but to no success.

Earlier this year, IBM had 9,262 patents, including more than 1,800 AI-related inventions in 2019 and more than 2,500 cloud-related.
