Ibis hotels has replaced its traditional check-in desk to create more social space, with reception staff greeting guests on arrival with their room keys in hand, plus a new fast online check-in and check-out process.

Information welcome staff need for everything from check-in to housekeeping and breakfast will be contained in an app running the company’s new FOLS mobile software.

Ibis says the hospitality experience will be improved for both guests and employees, and the space freed up can be used to incorporate retail services such as food and beverage.
