Since lockdown restrictions were eased last week for self-contained accommodation in Wales, holiday firms have become “frantically busy” taking bookings for cottages, caravan sites and holiday parks.

Many of the holidaymakers were from Wales looking for a staycation, but many English people are also enquiring.

Tourism in Wales is estimated to be worth more than £3bn, directly supporting almost 10% of Wales’ workforce at about 120,000 jobs, and contributes 6% of all Gross Value Added to the Welsh economy.
