Encouraging travellers toward eco-friendly behaviour has long been a challenge, especially in the hotel space, so Hilton has produced new research based on a survey of 71,937 of their guests worldwide for their views on social, environmental and ethical issues affecting their buying and booking behaviour.

Findings showed that 62% would switch away from their regular brand if it was in the news for unethical purposes, 56% make an effort to buy fair trade, organic or local products, and those not tested on animals.

While 67% don’t research a hotel brand’s environmental and social stance ahead of booking, 20% do, and 13% said they will if it’s easily accessible.
