Every hospitality business in the UK that has made an unsuccessful insurance claim related to Covid-19 business interruption can be encouraged now a French restauranteur has successfully gained a ruling in Paris against insurance giant AXA.

The Paris court ruled against AXA, saying that the administrative decision to close the restaurant qualified for insurance cover as a business interruption loss, and they must now pay the restaurant owner two months’ worth of Covid-19 related revenue losses.

AXA immediately said they would appeal the decision.
