The ScotSpirit Breaks initiative, set up in 2016 and coordinated by VisitScotland and the Family Holiday Association charity, has been hailed by tourism industry bosses as transforming Scottish tourism.

So far, 2,369 vulnerable children from the estimated one in three families in Scotland unable to take a break for financial or health reasons, have enjoyed a “life-changing” short break in Scotland thanks to the social tourism project.
