Expedia’s CEO is predicting Facebook will follow Google into the online travel booking business, possibly turning their e-commerce “buy” buttons into immediate vacation bookings

Facebook has already begun playing in the travel space, with a new product giving hotels and OTAs advertising access to Facebook users who have been talking about upcoming trips.

Travel companies including Hyatt Hotels and Air France-KLM are using Facebook’s Messenger application to talk to customers, giving further access to potential bookings.
