Expedia Group’s rebrand of its short-term rental business HomeAway to Vrbo has impacted its financial performance while it faces search engine optimisation issues.

Vrbo’s enjoyed a 46% growth in gross bookings growth in Q1 2018, but the same period this year slowed to 5% growth.

The slower gross bookings growth trend is expected internally to continue for some time but to recover before the end of the year, as Vrbo reach is expanded and rebranded with country-specific sites.
