A major estate agent in Scotland has been attacked by housing campaigners after listing a property for sale in Edinburgh as ‘ideal for Airbnb’.

There is an ongoing debate in the city over the hundreds of properties that have converted to Airbnb usage, locking out local residents and causing problems for residents.

During the Coronavirus lockdown, Airbnb bookings were outlawed, but the advert for a flat on Nicholson Street has caused affordable housing campaigners to say they don’t believe estate agents should “advertise, facilitate, or encourage unlawful short-term letting in Edinburgh” since flats without separate entrances are banned from letting them short-term.
