Two surveys of more than 7,000 travellers conducted by ASAP Business Partner Criton reveals the contactless technology that hotel guests want to use, and the safety measures they expect, when travelling again during Covid-19.

The research shows that, when travelling again, 80% of hotel guests would download a hotel app that would enable them to check-in, check-out and get information without contact, up 10% compared to March 2020.

Only 8% of guests would now feel comfortable to check-in and check-out at a public kiosk.

Key findings include that 43% 9f respondents would stay in a 3-star and 40% in a 4 or 5-star hotel; 62% would prefer to check-in and out through a hotel app, 30% said through a webpage and only 8% at a public kiosk; 73% would use an app that would enable them to open the door of their room; 47% would be more likely to order room service and 48% would be more likely to go to the hotel restaurant, if they could order for both via an app.

On safety, three-quarters felt the hotel should have clearly defined cleaning standards to combat COVID-19, with42% of respondents saing they would expect the hotel to replace complimentary toiletries, whether used or not, between guests.
