Some tourism and hospitality businesses in Scotland may never recover if there are more coronavirus restrictions on people meeting in bars or restaurants, industry leaders have warned.

Some government advisers have backed the idea of a “circuit breaker” lockdown although schools would remain open and there would be no nationwide restriction on travel.

The next three weeks include the October school break form last chance for many businesses to make money before the end of the year.
