Irish housing charity Threshold says it is surprised to see the number of entire homes available on Airbnb has increased since new regulations were brought in, and has called for new rules designed to make short-term letting less attractive to be better enforcemed.

The number of entire homes listed on Airbnb in areas worst hit by the housing crisis increased by more than 1,000 last year, despite regulations restricting lets to 90 days per year and requiring landlords to register with their councils, with so far only 370 applications received nationwide.
