Relocate Global reports on research from ASAP Business and Development Partner Homelike, finding that regular business travellers are increasingly turning to furnished apartments over hotels when travelling for more than 30 days, with 30% of UK travellers choosing this way for long-term business trips.
The survey of 1,000 UK business travellers shows that 25% stay in cities elsewhere for more than 30 days, with 30% responsible for booking their own accommodation, based on central location, quality and cost.
The research found that 40% of travellers aged 55+ and 41% of Gen Z would prefer a furnished apartment to a hotel, while Millennials are looking for a ‘home away from home’, near a green space and somewhere they can host their family and partner – and also pets.
Biggest stresses of long-term business travel are missing family and friends, feeling unhealthy due to eating out, and not having access to a gym. Female business travellers find their social life more important than men, and are more keen to have their families travel with them.
