On the Beach’s interim results announcement this week mentions the estimate that the UK outbound travel market is down about 10%, due to “ongoing uncertainty regarding Brexit”.

Customers who generally book holidays at the start of the year are holding back, and although bookings are starting to build, meaning tour operators and agents are having to work very hard and may be contractually committed to paying for trips that remain unbooked.

TUI and Thomas Cook are also due to report later this week.

Recent analysis placed On the Beach at the bottom of the top 10 listed OTAs for revenue, but noted it showed the fastest revenue growth.
