Ahead of a massive redesign when its lease terminates at the end of August, Ascott Mayfair, a 1930s Art Deco building, will see a major auction of its contents.

A total of 2,000 lots, the entire contents of the 56 serviced apartments, fitness centre, kitchen and restaurant and gardens, including designer inspired furniture, artwork, kitchen appliances and beds, will be sold during a three-day auction with bids also taken online.

Ascott employees are being offered alternative positions across six Citadines London aparthotels, while guests are being moved to alternative accommodation, with no further bookings being accepted. The company recently announced plans as part of its ongoing UK development strategy to open the 108 room Citadines London Islington in 2019, following a £52m investment.
